I've been using Bing! on my iPhone for the past coupla days. Remember, I do this for you. Mine is not an app review site, so if you want more details, perhaps visit Appolicious.
Anyway, Bing is fine. It's prettier, albeit less intuitive than Google (yes, the same could be said of me). The best way for me to describe it is if Google acquired Yelp but let Yelp have control of the 'home page' design.
Only here's the thing: it's no better than Google. Just like the Zune, a couple years late, was no better than the iPhone, just like we all know that the latest/greatest Windows Mobile phone (arriving, we think, around Christmastime) will be no better than an iPhone or Android. That's the thing about Microsoft: nobody is better at winning *yesterday's* tech wars than Microsoft.
It's why the next iteration of XBox will have Wii-like motion sensors, only better, while we've all moved on to games on our smartphones/iPads. Bing is exactly the same. At it's very best, it's still no better than Google.
And I've deleted it from my iPhone. Only the real reason why is the irony part. Because I don't need it. Just like I don't really need the Google app. Because the iPhone's (safari) web browser already has Google built in! Somewhere, former Netscape staffers must be having a quiet laugh.
