One Smartphone Per Child
The long-term goal for this site is, by 2020, to have every child owning a smartphone and connected to the global web.
Smartphones are shifting our perceptions of time and place, of community and relationships. Smartphones are disrupting existing means of information and entertainment, media, news, distribution of money, content and knowledge. They are de-constructing barriers to global markets, access to capital, building new business models and launching new forms of commerce.
Combined, smartphones are altering power, wealth, opportunity, work, learning and everything everywhere forever. There are over 2 billion children in the world. In the developed world, the very tools that we now use to expedite business, commerce, buying, selling, culture, creation, influence; namely, mobile connectivity, smartphones, the Internet, vrituality, are becoming *equally* accessible to children as to adults. In fact, children are more intuitively capable of manipulating, leveraging, distributing and enhancing these tools than are adults. This is unprecedented in all of history.

Smartphones and the mobile web are at the forefront of this revolution. We must get them into the hands of all children. The sooner all children are connected, the sooner we radically expand their opportunities, their access to information and knowledge and learning and health and commerce and freedom. The sooner all children are connected, the greater the likelihood that they will work together to end the planet's focus on the short-term, the present, the needs of entrenched interests.
This site will explore opportunities for each of us to help make this a reality. We welcome your thoughts and comments.
