Think Locally Scale Globally

To survive the Smartphone Wars, do not forget these four words -- one concept -- that underlay all future business and cultural success: THINK LOCALLY SCALE GLOBALLY. Similarly, do both well and good by focusing first and foremost on the largest market, the largest opportunity -- ever -- and one virtually untapped, also in four simple memorable words: YOUNG BROWN WOMAN CHILD.

Together, these two strategic (r)evolutionary gateways are going to radically re-configure commerce, culture, power, wealth, influence, opportunity and everything everywhere forever. They will usher in an age of great leveling, where all compete on an equal footing, where none, no matter how exalted, how wealthy, have an advantage; or can be isolated. Billions will be raised up. Millions will be flattened. Embrace this great leveling. Or, become extinct like dinosaurs. Those great giants of a dying age will not survive.

The 'Great Leveling' of commerce and connectivity will usher in a completely new era of business, creativity, wealth, influence and power. Borne from the convergence of virtually free, infinitely scalable, globally accessible social platforms, smartphones, databases, web services and technologies, all increasingly affordable, increasingly more powerful, the age of the great leveling enables any-time, any-where collaboration between any individual, group or machine, barrier free. This great leveling will fundamentally and permanently transform business, commerce, competition, philanthropy, learning, play, work and power forever.

Like flowers and small, comparatively weak mammals at the end of the age of dinosaurs, you can succeed in these times of parallel global growth and constant localized destruction. Your perceived lack of size, lack of power is false. You are part of a much larger, much stronger, rapidly adapting social ecosystem that has never previously existed. It is the dinosaurs that will be marginalized.

Want to survive in this new world? With the destruction of everything, with everything changing, most advice will be meaningless; nearly all based on past experience, which will prove useless. But I, dear leader, shall try. To thrive, behave like small, pack mammals. Adapt, adopt, move faster, work in groups, come out only at the right time. First movers usually get eaten. Remember that. Dinosaurs still live and as long as they do, remain a threat. Remember also that families, villages, businesses, entire markets can survive off the carcass of a dinosaur. Or, nearly as good, thrive while hidden in the shadows of their dying ecosystem.

I want you to do more than survive, however. More than thrive, even. I want you to embrace the great leveling, speed its arrival, carry its unprecedented potential to all areas of the planet. My mission is to show you how the Smartphone Wars and its subsequent great leveling represents as much an opportunity as an assault upon your life, your work, your wealth, your status. You, a single person, can help spread opportunity to a mobile, developing, billions-strong market, or be marginalized by the changes such opportunity will deliver. Unlike the dinosaurs of a prior age, you have a choice.

Learn to accept change, change of everything you know. Oftentimes, you may become disconnected, feel powerless, have no control over your path. If so, behave like a weed, a bud, pollen, floating, floating, until you land. And take root. Take root right where you are! Til you are lifted up again. You can survive. This site will uncover, promote and construct policies and actions that embrace the great leveling while ensuring a prosperous, sustainable quality of life for my fellow Americans -- and wherever possible, all others.

In this new age we are certain to experience unimagined wonder, unprecedented opportunity and also horror. You must be strong. You must know who you are, what you believe, where you stand, how you wish to live your life -- under all circumstances. Never before have the tools of market creation, development — and destruction — been so readily, cheaply accessible, to nearly all. Never before has size and scale been so detrimental to success. This changes everything. Nothing will be like ever before. Fear not. You are not alone. You are not isolated. You are not powerless. You are part of a growing, soon to be thriving ecosystem, right where you are. Hyperlocal is hyperglobal.

Godspeed my friends!
